Gemstones to Cover Up Blackheads? Look How Acne Inspired This Makeup Artist

Gemstones to Cover Up Blackheads? There is no denying that we have made great strides when it comes to this Acne acceptance in recent years, and it’s largely due to people on Instagram who choose to celebrate their skin the way it is, rather than disguising it. Sure, the unfair stigma still exists to some extent, but the fact is there are mistakes Nothing to be ashamed and people are finally beginning to realize that. I mean hello: they happen to almost everyone. What could be more human than that?

This is the message from Pittsburgh-based makeup artist Ana – aka @ Nightmaring on Instagram – hopes to spread with her latest work showing some of her acne spots glamorously adorned with gems. On Monday, January 19, the 23-year-old MUA published a photo of the beautiful look as well as a detailed description of the acne positivity and the frustratingly persistent stigma that surrounds the condition that is still common today.

First Ana explained that she was her own inspiration for the photo. “My pimples and blackheads on my cheeks that glittered with a fresh moisturizer made me gemstones! I didn’t want to apply eyelash glue to my already inflamed cheeks, so I did it on my nose!” She wrote.

Then she went straight to the stigma aspect: “Acne can be so frustrating and frankly the stigma is still nonsense. The skin is super cool, it protects your body, it helps you to exist in the physical world! Pimples help keep shit off your skin and clean it and protect you! “She wrote. In addition, she found that the acne stigma in America was created by soap companies to convince people that they are dirty when they have acne. “Look, it’s ridiculous,” she wrote.

In terms of execution, Ana only used two products to achieve this look: ELEVEN. Poreless Putty Primer from Cosmetics and some mini gems that she bought “forever” from Amazon.

We hope to see more acne positive looks in 2020. Thank you for starting it, Ana.
